New Here, Need Insight on Nationwide

Hi all, I just found this forum after doing some searching on becoming a Nationwide agent, and appreciate any advice you can give me. I have been an adjuster for property and casualty for about 9 years now. I'm independent and work mostly catastrophe, but I've managed to stay pretty busy by staying mostly at home the last couple of years. I applied for an adjuster position with Nationwide in my local area, and I didn't get a call back for that however I was contacted by a recruiter who is wanting me to go through the process to become an agent. We did a short phone interview and he sent a link to the Calliper assessment to see if I'm a good fit for the program.
Being an agent is something that I've actually thought of for several years prior to becoming an adjuster even. I haven't worked a storm for Nationwide since about 2003, and I honestly wasn't really impressed by the way they handled the cat that I worked, but a lot of that was due to the regional cat site manager and probably not the company as a whole.
My real question is whether or not Nationwide presents a good opportunity, especially in Texas where I live. Are they competitive with their rates, and do they pay a good commission? I know the first couple of years I will take a big hit financially, but does anyone know what a good agent with NW should expect in years 3-5?

thanks for your help!

Wes

Wes, if you are still around I welcome you. Sorry it took almost 7 months. I don't know anything about Nationwide.

7 month and I never welcome you....I'm so sorry. Must have been one of the few days, I actually was doing work. It happens sometimes.

I hope you are still around....

lol

Hey thanks for the replies guys, better late than never! I decided against the agent route and am still adjusting. Right now I'm in New Zealand working earthquake claims, first time I've been overseas adjusting and have made a lot of great contacts.
