Hi everyone! A friend and I are looking into starting an independent agency and we're here trying to learn as much as we can to achieve our goal. We would like to start out by learning how to create a business plan, or rather improve the one we've already completed. We didn't go to school for business so a lot of the financing aspects of the business plan are foreign to us. We'd also like to determine whether we should attempt to buy a book of business, or team up with an Aggregator or obtain bank financing and sell policies one at a time. Our credit isn't the greatest so that aspect has us a little concerned. We do have some capital we can use; however, we're not sure if we have enough... We wish we had a mentor that could guide us. Maybe that is the real underlying reason we are here. Any one out there willing to help?
