Laurie tells me she thinks you need a P&C license to market it. I challenged her on that and she is checking into my questions. Currently I market for 3 different surplus lines carriers and do not have a P&C license. It all depends on how the product is filed in each state.
If it is filed as a P&C product then a P&C license is needed.
If filed as a surplus lines product thru non-admitted carriers it really doesn't matter as long as you have a licensed agent in the loop.
She is also checking on capitated fees to marketing organizations who want to do affinity marketing.
