Just received the notice today of new IRS rule approval. Confirmed the household dependents of employees covered by group insurance can have individual health insurance tax credits based on calculations of whole household income, not just the employee's income.
This adds a layer of questions and notifications for employers benefits communications. I would think employers might be happy to reduce benefit costs if they are contributing to employee dependent coverage.
In my case I don't have many groups that this affects, but a number of clients and potential referrals for the situation for individual plans.
