Starting is the key factor, you have to do it. Where to start really depends on how you feel about it.
Since you are new to the industry, do you understand the basic auto and home policies? Are you looking to write life insurance that are basic?
Find your comfort level of the product and once determined, run with it. Learn the policy and amendments available. Each carrier is different so understand their policy and the competition's policy.
I advise newcomers to start doing CSR work (if you don't like producing) or vice versa (if you like sales, but hate paperwork).
