New Underwriters?

Has anyone heard of new companies that might soon develop long term care policies. With Berkshire Guardian exiting the marketplace, I understand Jim Glickman would like to bring on an additional company to fill the void. Has anyone heard anything? It would be nice if a company like Principal Financial would underwrite a long term care insurance policy.

Although it seems to be a well guarded secret, Humana is test marketing a LTC plan in 6 states. They are not necessarily the carrier you would be looking for, but just passing the info.

Thanks, Herman, I was aware of Humana. And you are right, I would not get a warm fuzzy from LTC offerings by Humana, Aetna, Coventry, United Health Care, Assurant, et al.

Jim Glickman is still looking for a carrier to replace Assurity's spot. I heard there were some deals close, but fell thru at the last minute. Now is not the best time for a carrier to spend money getting into the LTC market.
