Is there any pre-packaged information anywhere for someone who is starting as an independent from outside of the industry ?

Meaning, after you pass the test and you want to start selling, is there like a hit list of what you should have in place first ?

Best recommended practices for setting up your office ?

What software to use, what quoting engine, what is the best company to start with ?

I know everyone is different, but trying to figure all of these pieces out at once from someone who has never sold insurance before is challenging.

I haven't come across one yet. that's actually the reason I
found this forum, was because I was seeking the same answers on the internet, and came across this forum. Which truly is Jam packed with information on that exact subject.

And your right it is challenging to figure out all this stuff. everything to Location, bonds, incorporating,Quotion program.

I've been working working for a broker for years, and am planning on going on my own. And I still have alot of unanswered questions!

Find a good IMO person who can help you. Nobody will give you a written list of things to do. But you would find someone who is a good MGA and would help you succeed. Better interview a few MGA and see which one can help you the most. Do not choose your MGA based on the highest contract since the higher the contract, the less help you would get. The lead system is also very important.
