Newly licensed after being out of the industry for 25 years

I was in the insurance business for about 8 years, licensed with Life, Health, and Property. I worked as a captive agent and an independent broker. For many reasons I stopped working in the insurance business, but I am determined to become a producer in the same lines of business as an independent broker. I recently received my Life license and will sit for the Health in the next two weeks, then the Property and Casualty.

I do remember having a couple of good contracts, that paid good commissions with renewals etcetera, but not sure which companies now offer these types of arrangements. At the time I had a group of friends that could lead me to the correct place, or introduce me to the right people.

So my biggest question is, which companies work with independents and what is a standard type of General Agency type of contract in the industry today?

Thanks in advance.

Wasting your time trying to be a professional in 2 different realms. Life and Health is one thing, then P&C is another. Never met a P&C agent that knew very much about life or health insurance and rightfully so....they are too busy with P&C to really learn the other side. Not only that, but many of them don't have the right companies for Life and Health anyway.
