Hey everyone,

Thank you for the great website, I have spent hours reading and learning so much as I am considering joining the business.

There is one question I can't seem to find an answer to: If I am looking to start with selling Health &/or Life, Is there a list of companies that support independant agents.

1. Health Companies

2. Life Companies

Thanks,

Matt

P.S. I am in Virginia. Also, I see a lot of posts on who NOT to work for, here I am looking for great carriers for independant agents.

Easy......all of them.........for health go to esurance and run a rate and start with all those......

Looking into life as an independent. I would suggest joining the www.ILIAA.org plug in to Nicks webinars and ask him to point you to the recorded ones pertaining to new agents. Also use Compulife in the ILIAA site and start running quotes. Term and GUL are going to be an important part of a new agents arsenal. That will help you see who fits price wise with your target group. In the beginning, it will be all about price. As you mature and grow in product knowledge and needs analysis price will become less important. Again, Nick can help.

Once you have a couple companies in mind shop out GAs. Someone willing to teach you is more important than a few extra points in a contract. IMHO

Oh also I would check out Mark's site http://www.rosenthalfiles.com/ and http://agentnavigator.com/index.php

Nick, Mark, John I gladly except PayPal

A lot of who you're looking for is going to depend on what you want. If you're looking for super high contract levels and no support it's different than if you're a scratch agent looking for a lot of guidance.

What lines are you specifically looking to get into and why?

I am open to bids. However, I have to tell you, that Mark has antied up a Chinese Praying Mantis egg.

Dang!!! Now I have to come up with something really good to top that!! That could very well end up being a gift that keeps on giving!!

I'm going to have to make a few calls and get a brain-storming session going....I'll get back with you! ;)

I would give Todd King a call. He's a straight shooter and he has been good to me so far. The other guys who have been mentioned so far are also 'the good guys'. Make some calls and see who is a good fit for you.
