Non-owner auto, I assumed was a typo and he meant non-owned auto. Which is often used to disguise taxi and black car companies.
How was I burned you ask, haha makes me laugh and or cry to think about. A good size taxi company was referred to me, somewhere around 50 drivers and 30 taxis. Had some issues which I was fine with, only to find out they had already signed papers and the business was sold with a closing in 2 weeks. Being sold to a larger taxi mgmt company so no hope for me to keep the account... I think that would qualify as burned. Since I had already put the time in on the account. Oh well such is the life of the insurance man.
