Nonstandard Carrier in South Texas?

Our agency located in Corpus Christi area, currently has Progressive, Titan/Victoria, Dairyland & Foremost as non-standard auto options.

We are considering picking one more non-standard. Any suggestions for carriers we should consider?

I'm a nonstandard in Austin so carriers that are competitive for us might not be for you, but ill give you my top 3 that you don't have

American Access aains.com (you get a dedicated underwriter helps TONS of headaches)
ACCC general agency (UW dept has been having long waits recently) tx.acccins.com

My favorite to do business with is American Access just for the dedicated underwriter

Kemper Specialty which used to be Unitrin Specialty is another we use in east Texas.

^^^ ditto. I have Kemper Specialty in 3 states. I like them.

pros:

• great sometimes for filling in holes that other non-standards can't seem to be competitive on.

• easy to work with. I've never had a problem with them.

• have certain geographical hot spots that can be great for marketing in.

• not too harsh on those with really bad records (those who are close to pushing the points max).

cons:

• don't like young drivers too much

• don't like comp & collision coverage much either

• can be a little harsh sometimes on the down payment

overall, good company. I recommend them.
