Had a referral call in wanting dentures. Age 70, uses VA. Has never had an MAPD or supp. Can the Other Creditable Coverage SEP be used in this scenario for a 3/1 effective date? I've used that before in a similar situation but never when the person had NO existing plan.

No, the SEP is primarily one to disenroll from an MAPD/PDP. If leaving an MAPD, then they can join an MA-only. You might have slipped some apps through before, but I know plans are going to be looking to lock this down now that the disaster SEP is moving out of agents' hands.

Oh yeah, OCC is for going from MAPD to MA. Completely spaced that.

I bet I've done 10 honor plans in last 2 yrs with Humana were the Va vet had original Medicare only. Never had one rejected . Matter of fact i did 2 like that in Nov for a Dec 1 effective date . Fisher try it and report back if it went through

That's right Donny Boy.

As always, love the help. Forgot about this. I've done it also but not in awhile. And it was that exact advice I took and it worked.

OCC--did a handful of these this way.
