I've been working in the insurance industry since 1981, mostly finance and marketing. Have had all my California licenses since 2002, but have not sold much as an agent. Did a stint as a producer at a Farmers agency in 2002-02 and sold supplemental health insurance for Washington National for about 6 months last year and earlier this year. Both times were a total bust. I always thought I should be pretty good at this, but it looks like the road to bankruptcy. Joined this forum a while back hoping I could find an area suitable for me. Got laid off from my job as a Controller for a carrier 18 months ago and haven't found anything besides the Washington National thing. I'm 61 years old and need some decent income to support my family. The retirement saving are dwindling fast. Any good advice would be greatly appreciated.
