Super Genius
Hey all. Anyone had any experience with working while wandering? I realize the tech is all there, but specifically, how do you manage state licensing issues, etc? For instance, I "live" in Maine, but I'm sitting a campground in Tennessee, writing an e-app for LTC for a client in TX. Thanks!

I'm licensed in every state.

For that case, you're just writing a TX app/TX license but you're (the producer) signing in TN. I'm a NV resident but I go to AZ pretty frequently and write apps when I'm there. I always just put the city/state where I'm signing, the client puts city/state where they're signing and we submit.

I've never had an issue.

So to write from Tenn he doesn't need to be licensed in Tenn to do the TX app and sign from Tenn.?

I leave that stuff up to the carrier. They know where I'm licensed/appointed and won't issue business if everything isn't in good order. There are multiple regs on this point and some seem to conflict (writing business, getting it issued, getting paid, etc.)

If you're going to be spending time in other states consistently, you could just get licensed in those states and avoid the issue altogether (where one carrier says it's ok but another says that it's not).

That's what I did over time but now I'm licensed everywhere so it's never an issue either way.
