P&c Mga

Been searching high and low, reading the fine print, etc. I just don't think there is a good solution for stepping into the P&C market. SA has no commercial and BOP i've yet to find a SIC that is covered in my state through its carriers. SA seems to be for personal lines only. SmartChoice is not in MT. InsuranceNoodle has the dreadful 2yr non-compete but, their commissions are close to direct 13'ish range. I just run into future growth issues and I'm not sure whether or not I will be subject to commission rate structure changes in the contract. SIAA requires investment and they are not accepting new agents, only established ones. Any sub agency agreements just isnt viable for all the obvious reasons. Outside of buying a book and applying direct or paying SIAA, I think the best option is Noodle... unless I've missed an option. :nah:

red kite check out. agencyequity.com it is a web site about different clusters. ISU, montanainsurancemanagers, plus some others. also check with your state association, they should have a program, for new indys.

Ill check it out thanks! Our state IIAMT was really vague and I'm not quite sure if I still even understand it correctly but, the gal said the program points IA's to carriers available in the state for the annual fee plus a few other perks. It is not an appointment. Think its around $500. Big I Market access is just a directory for all intensive purposes but, the rules are the same for direct P&C carriers, ill still need an MGA.

What state are you in? I'm with a local agency called MKNI. They are licensed in several states however. They have a 65% split on new biz AND renewals, and pay for e and o. You have ownership of your book. The split increases as your book grows, topping out at 80%. I've been with them 7 years and it's worked out well for me.
