Sometimes when you're out in the Field Grinding, it helps to keep things in perspective.

On Monday, I made my calls and set 7 appointments for Tuesday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

1st appointment - 75 year old female, good health, asked why, did presentation, no sale. Said it was too expensive. She had her sister there, and even she was saying "well, you know you are 75, and we talked about it, we knew it was going to cost a little more"... I asked her why she waited so long to get life insurance... her answer... she just didn't like to think about it.... long story short no saile.. No big deal.. I still have 6 appointments left...

2nd appointment - 61 year female.. not in the best shape, could have got her a graded.. she basically just thought it was more government benefits, but I did ask her if she was concerned about her burial/final expenses, and leaving that burden on her loved ones, point blank, she said no. No presentation ( I don't do presentations to uninterested people, a nod to JD.) No sale. NO big deal, I still have 5 appointments.

3rd appointment - 82 year old female, spoke to son, he was the one that filled out the card, set the appointment, we both agreed he would be there to help, arrived, no where to be found. His 82 year old mother, had no clue why I was there. No presentation, especially to people that have no idea why I'm in their house. No sale, No big deal, I still have 4 appointments.

4th appointment - NO SHOW. No big deal, I still have 3 appointments.

5th appointment - NO SHOW, ummm... nnnooo big deal.... I..I..still have 2 appointments left?...TEAR

6th appointment - NOOOOO SHOWWWW... COME ON!!!... hmphfff... no !@#$%^& big deal...I... sighhhh ...

7th appointment - 62 yr old female, good health, still working, asked why, did presentation, recently had her husband pass away. Only had VA, didn't cover everything, no other coverage, he didn't even qualify for the $255 social security death benefit!! Family had to deal it with, fortunately his mother could handle it. But she didn't want her 4 adult kids to go through that. Result? SALE.. $656 AP.

I worked all day, and I could have given up and say... !@#$ this! But I continued. I made $656 bucks for that day. That equates to $81/hour. Some people work all week to make that. I did it in one day of grinding, and not giving up. Is it a lot of money? Nope, but the week is early, and tomorrow is a new day.

When I get frustrated, it helps to keep things in perspective!...Gotta go, I have to get up early tomorrow ;)

Great job! How many appointments do you have tomorrow or do you schedule for Thursday?

I schedule for Thursday. But If I can set all my appointments in the morning, I door knock leads I haven't been able to reach in the afternoon. Just to up my 'Activity'.

fla2calli,

I like your perspective. It's soooooo easy to let the first 6 get to you. I've got two questions...

How long have you been selling FE?

How early were you to your #7?

Andy

Awesome, I haven't worked this hard in years...lol I think I need to go on a ride along so I can wake up!!!..:D

With this persistent mindset there is no doubt you will be a successful for many many years.

lol...nah, the Ford GT is a more of a dream then it is anything, love the car, it recently beat out a ton of high priced European cars for top speed and is in the Guinness book of records for going over 288 in a standing mile, so I thought I would give it some due!
