As we are heading into AEP, are any of you concerned about huge increases in plan J?

Are you telling your clients you will be calling them this spring to discuss some of the new plans that will be available?

Or are you recommending plan F now?

More info please...

What does Plan J have to do with AEP?

Who said Plan J is gauranteed "huge" rate increases?

Beware of the Kool-Aid.

As far as I know no company has said that. Of course it dont have to be said that these "J" plans will have only been around for less then two years so the group will be relatively small which means theres a damn good chance the rates will be shooting up fast in the next 5 years. Who knows what these sneaky dogs er I mean insurance companies are up to for sure but chances are they have a few tricks up their sleeves..

Maybe and maybe not. For one thing, most people in a plan J are T65 or have been underwriten. This should provide a fairly steady rate future unless some sick T65's got into the pool. For Missouri I'd have to say Plan J will be more steady in the rates than any other letter due to our GI law.
