Please Critique My Medicare Supplement Flyer

What do you guys think? I am going to distribute these in the near future and wanted to make sure that they are compliant and effective.

Thanks.

It is pretty straightforward, but IMO it is lacking in pizzaz. In other words, there is no sizzle to attract a prospect to ask for more information. Maybe a little design/artwork would help. I believe there are some members of this forum who do that stuff.

I agree with Arnguy. Some graphics, questions in red and the answers in black type.

Start out with a question.

"Are you sure the Medicare Supplement Policy you currently have is the best investment of your premium dollar?" If you are then read no further. (That always gets them to read on.)

Oh, your statement, "In Missouri, you have the right to switch carriers each year during the annual enrollment period..." is not worded correctly.

The way you have it worded it sounds like it happens during a certain time of the year for everyone. I'm sure you know it is thirty days on the anniversary date of the policy. It might cause confusion the way you have it worded.

I agree with Frank on the confusion with the GI law's wording and what you have there. What you have sounds like another AEP (annual election period) or some such that is common with all beneficiaries and the medicare advantage or part D market.

Something like:

If you live in Missouri you have a guaranteed right to switch from a higher priced medicare supplement to a company with a lower price without being denied coverage or having to wait for pre-existing conditions to be covered. You have thrity days before/after your CURRENT medicare supplement's issue date to excercise this right.

How about this......." Call now to see if we can save you 20-30% on your current Medicare supplement. Operators standing by...555-555-5555...."

Just think what an extra $40-$50, or more per month could do for your budget!! So stop thinking, give us a call at 555-555-5555!

New changes are coming. we'll tell you all about it. So get on the bandwagon and save, save save. Call now..555-555-5555. (

"If you live in Missouri you have a guaranteed right to switch..."

Is that also true in other states?

There are only a very few states that have a provision like that. California has the same thing only instead of being the anniversary date of the policy it is on the person's birthday.

Because of Missouri's law regarding that, Missouri is not one of the favorite states for insurance companies to sell Med Supps in. Several companies dramatically reduce the agent's commission compared to what they offer in other states.

... or start out at a higher price than a neighboring state without that law.

United World in Kansas is still cheaper after about four years than United of Omaha right across the state line and they just came out with that book last year.

I call that our bitter sweet law or sweet'n'sour law. It has it's good side and it's bad side.
