This is from another Member having issues posting here on the forum.

Val, can you help him.

His email is [email protected]

He writes "I am new to the insurance forum. I have been lurking around for months now and I am ready to start posting. But I have a problem with posting. Everytime I try to post, I can't change font, add pictures, etc. And the message box is blue instead of white. It lets me type a lot. But when I try to send it, it reads, "The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 20 characters." My posts are way more than 20 characters. It seems as if it's not picking up my attempted post at all. Anyway, I tried messaging the company, but they never replied back. I know you're experienced in this forum and was just wondering if you could please help if possible. My computer is fairly new and I'm running Windows 7. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Tell him to try firefox instead of IE9.

This reeks of ie9 bug.

If that isn't it, tell him to disable whatever security suite he's running, its breaking the form. Probably some anti-virus garbage the computer came with that doesn't do much, other than prevent websites from working.

Most php/java based websites running in vbulletin, phpbb, etc, run better in firefox than IE or chrome, because firefox seems to be better in general at parsing javascript.

I've noticed very similar behavior with sugarcrm, vicidial, and other web based softwares, to the point when someone has an issue with vicidial or sugar the first thing I ask is if they're using IE or chrome, and ask them to change browsers first before digging further into the problem, typically the browser switch fixes it.

Chrome is faster but less stable, IE is a piece of **** right now.

Hey guys. I'm the one who had the posting problem. You were right. It was IE giving me problems. I have since installed Firefox and I can now post. Thanks again to everyone that helped!

Glad it helped.

I hope you read my email. Microsoft knows hot to make things uber-complicated and frustrating in a unique way.

Val.

IE8 was decent, it did a lot of things well, and it was stable. It was slow.

Right now though, IE8 is a dinosaur, IE9 is broken.

Firefox = slower than chrome, faster than IE, most stable

Chrome = fastest, less stable than Firefox, more stable than IE

IE = wouldn't use it unless something forced me to because of a random website requiring it because the programmers made it that way.

As of yesterday, chrome is the most popular brower in the world, passing IE8. It probably deserves it, it is the fastest, and it is easy to use.

The one hang up with chrome is that if you have a web application using a LOT of javascript, at some point it'll crash the browser over and over till you clear the cache.

Firefox doesn't have any issues I know of. I use them both.

Microsoft is making a massive number of mistakes right now, IMO, trying to transform their software division, by their own statement, to be more like apple, and have everything be closed off using the same OS, so that your phone and your xbox and your computer and tablet run the same thing. I think the point they're missing, if people want that, it already exists. It's called Apple.

Google is taking the entire might of the open source community and letting it run rampant, embracing the linux and web development community.

I'd put my bets on Google over the other 2.
