Production Bonus

I am alittle curious I am aware that if I am working under a MGA then my production is shown as his production. My question is when working under a MGA do you miss out on all the production bonus or is that up to the MGA.

Up to the MGA to pass along bonuses. Assurant, for example, does not bonus agents, only GAs and MGAs. Those bonus programs are not made public to writing agents.

Assurant has a bonus for every 100,000 in premium you receive a free trip is that correct

The others are correct with regard to Assurant. Only MGA's and GA's. However, as an agent I have been with them since 2002 and have qualified to go on a trip every single year.

That said, any MGA worth a damn will pass the trip down to their agents and release you from your contracts upon request. I have been very lucky to work for an MGA that provides bonus / exoctic trips for 2 for the majority of their major carriers. It has been great to enjoy marketing and office staff support as an Indy.

I've been on a couple of the Assurant trips (on the life side.) They were pretty SWEET! If I remember correctly, they didn't give us a 1099 but we had to go to a 1-hour breakfast meeting every morning.
