This is kind of a repost but since it's a different question I thought it would be best to put in a new thread
So my car was declared totalled by Progressive. A few days ago the claim adjuster asked me to sign a credit info release paper. So I signed it, she told me it was to check if I had a "financial motive" to ruin my own car....I don't mind that they do the credit check thing. She already sent me the release of interest paper to sign and notarize so I can get the payoff. The thing is my ex boyfriend is still listed as an owner of the car and the insurance company doesn't know that (I forgot that I hadn't taken him off). He doesn't mind signing the paper, he acknowledges that the car is mine and I paid for it. The thing he DOES mind is having to possibly sign a credit release paper. Should I just send the notarized paper with both of our signatures and see what happens? He and I don't have anything to do with each other now and he will NOT sign that paper so I don't know what to do.
