I can probably guess the answer but I'm going to toss this out to see what the pros think.

My 72 yo Mother mentioned to me today that she thought she get a final expense policy. I am not sure what prompted this, she hits me with randomness every so often. I'm a Paramedic, and we would classify her as a "train wreck" - multiple chronic medical conditions.

Would she have a prayer of being written if she wanted to pursue this? I don't want to drag an agent to the house to see her to have them laugh at us [figuratively speaking].

Should I even look at helping her pursue this?

It would depend on the conditions as to what type of coverage she could get but she can get coverage.

The best thing to do is meet with an independent agent and go over all of her health issues. On many of these simplified isue whole life policies a person can get coverage even with things that the lay person may think is a big issue. Most every company has a niche or "sweet spot" for different conditions.

If ROP is the only thing available for her an agent could tell her that. Then there is always preneed if she wants to pay it off fast or here health is really bad.

Thanks Guys.

I didn't want to waste an agents time, I know it is valuable, if the odds sounded insurmountable for her. I'll do some research locally for an agent.

If anyone here is a MA Agent, close to the North Shore, contact me privately if you wish.
