Questions about the industry

1. Why do agency managers always hire anyone and everyone? There's barely any vetting process for hiring qualified people.

2. Can someone please explain why mortgage lenders would ever want to refer me business? Like how is what I do so special that they'd want to help me out by sending me referrals? Every time I try to ask the lenders to send me people they never end up doing it.

3. Why does it seem like the underwriters are the ones that get all the money? It seems like they're the ones that move into leadership roles or executive positions, while the agents struggle for years and years before seeing any benefits. I don't understand why people don't just become underwriters instead of being a slave for so long?

Can someone please offer some feedback? I'm going insane over here

You're done. You've given up and you've quit the business. If anything, right now, you're just in denial and you're trying to find a way or reason to keep going.

Is there a reason why you haven't gone back to what you were doing before?

Why are you hanging on?

Let's get to the ROOT of your questions before even trying to answer them.

The greatest failure I know of... Van Mueller - because of his rebound. He failed for 16 years before he was FIRED!!

"This is the greatest service industry that has ever existed in the history of the world and you have the opportunity to serve everybody you come across and I can show you how to do it so you can be successful if you are willing to try what I am about to show you." - Van Mueller

No, I am trying to find a better option within the insurance industry. Either underwriting or something that doesn't force someone to spend tons of money on prospecting or leads. Maybe it'd be alright to do 1 or 2 more years of mind numbing work where I barely make a living and need to work my side hustle on weekends. But I can't take that for much longer. I'd rather just prove my worth, get securities licenses and be a consultant for a larger firm with orphan clients instead of living poorly for years and years.

Wow is this guy really mentioning politics and Trump in a speech about how to be a successful insurance agent? Way to polarize the entire room.

If that's what you're getting out of listening to Van Mueller... then I'll just reinforce what I said earlier:

You're done.

This career isn't for you.

I see it in the way you're writing. You're so deep in the house of pain that the pain is oozing out of you. You have no enthusiasm and no joy in what you do.

You think that securities licenses makes this job EASIER?

Nope but I'd rather specialize in investment strategies (series 7 and 66... NOT interested in 6) and have insurance to write on the side. It's sort of confusing why so many life insurance agents are obsessed with whole life or universal life when the returns are so poor.

You need a home office job. You're not cut out for sales.

But we're a bunch of agents here. It's not like we know how to get a job with the home office, nor would we want one.

You might have the personality temperament to be an actuary.

You don't understand life insurance on a tax equivalent basis.

But most agents don't either.
