I'm thinking of leaving med supp call center to go on my own. I am top producer but tired of office politics and want to write my own check. Any suggestions.

Think long and hard about how easy it is to run a call center. Your biggest problem will be lead gen so if you have a good solution for that you're probably in good shape, but I'd say 9/10 people that think it's going to be better to leave end up learning real quick that there is a lot that their agency has been doing for them that's been a factor in their being a top producer.

I realize and am thankful. I recently found out that a person that is being hired would be getting all call ins, VM, and 1st dialer rotation. I turned them down to be sales manager and now retaliation setting in. Leads we spread evenly before.

The answer I got when I asked why was that he is the owner and he can give leads out how he wants too. No professional any longer. Sad

If you do leave them, then congratulations on your emancipation! If you are going to continue doing Med Supp by phone, it is a very viable proposition. More and more agents seem to be taking to that side. As far as marketing goes, Josh would be a great one to get lists from.

When it comes to contracting, make sure you are getting with an IMO that will readily release you if you ask. Speaking of that, I hope you don't have a problem getting released from the upline you have now. According to how you are set up now, I'm sure your commissions are lower than street level, so just make sure you know what the street level for each company is so that you don't get hoodwinked by the new IMO. If you want to know what street levels are for each company you can give us a call and we'll tell you. It can range anywhere from 18-23% depending on the company (and the state).
