Yesterday I went to deliver the LH policy that I wrote replacing a Foresters recently. I want to thank all 128 of you who responded to the thread which offered much advice and suggestions for character improvement. Especially to mattschmidt and reardon and jdeasy I am grateful. You were right and I was wrong. I know this now because when I went to the door and tried to deliver the policy my prospect said that she didn't want it and preferred to work with the "girl" from Foresters...

I once replaced a couple policies for a husband and wife. Was able to save both of them money and add more coverage for the wife (at less premium). When I went to deliver the policies, they informed me the talked it over with the other agent and the 3 of them decided it was better to just stay put in the company they had been with for a feew years already. I told them the new policies were already aproved with day 1 coverage. They would have to cancel these policies in order to pay more (for less coverage) with the other company.
They said that sounded like the right thing to do.

I thought there was going to be a punch line at the end. It's just someone admitting they learned something. That's refreshing.

I can't imagine that LH agents replace too much of anything but I'm sure there's one in a blue moon that gets by.

The people in the FE are a different breed. I called a lady a few weeks ago from a lead card. She would set the appointment with me because she had just bought CL and didn't want to fool with changing. I told her that I could save her quite a bit of money or get her more coverage for the same prmium. I even used Newby's line about, "would you rather give that extra money to your beneficiary or to CL?" Still wouldn't agree to meet.

Last week I just doorknocked it and she let me in and never even mentioned or remembered our phone conversation. She was more than ready to replace that CL.

I found this out in my brief FE career.....in MOST circumstances, u dont give up on a lead via phone....u just show up! My best advice, NEVER give up on a lead til u get a DEFINITE Yes or No!! U may have to leave it alone for awhile, but just put it away then go back to it til u get that Yes or No!!

If CL=Columbian Life, we are ripping them a new one lately. I replaced another one yesterday too. They are really out there making the effort though.

Allen -- You gotta tell that lady Foresters is a freakin' CANADIAN COMPANY that doesn't PAY WELL.

I called a guy who got a bank returned payment and he informed me another agent coming behind me said the same thing.

You can't fix stupid?

methinks something stinks in the forum.. As long as funeraldirector has been around, I can't believe that this would be the first time this has ever happened to him or that he would be shocked that it did. A little leg pulling going on?? :skeptical::)
