Hopefully someone else chimes in but normally, anything registered requires a 6/7.

I know that there is a lot of confusion with the "hybrids" too (Brighthouse, Allianz, etc.). I mainly work with Financial Advisors and half of them never even realize that you need a securities license to sell those "buffer" products (but they're already licensed so it doesn't matter to them).

GAFRI has one. Maybe reach out to them?

Thanks. You are probably right since it is a commission based product and not fee based.
