ROP and Jet Issue Questions

Ok, I'm captive right now but I want to see what other options are out there. I'm looking at a 45 year old male STD-NT and wanting a 20yr, $250,000 policy. I can offer him a policy for $83.66/mo or a ROP policy for $194.09/mo. A 129% mark up seems kinda high to me...am I off base here?

My other question is what kind of mark up should there be on a simplified issue policy compared to a fully underwritten one? In the same scenario I'm looking at $116.15 and $204.79 for ROP.

Thanks in advance!

I think the age is the kicker in this one. I ran it thru a couple of companies I have and coming up within a few dollars of what you have. A lot will depend on if he's on meds and how many. One company I ran it thru is a simplified issue, the other a non-med issue. Just a longer app with more questions.

How is his health and weight/height ratio?

Protective, Genworth, Banner, American General and Transamerica are all about $55/mo at standard rates for a 20 year term, $250,000 face.

If you insist on simplified issue

Fidelity:

90.04/month
171.09/month with ROP

I suggest you get him underwritten, it's much cheaper!

Sorry if I wasn't clear, this is just a hypothetical siuation, I wanted to see how competitive I am right now. Also, for you indies out there, how long does it take for your fully underwritten cases to get issued?

all depends on when the exam gets done. I always try and get them to schedule the exam right there while I am still with the client, but it doesn't always work. Once the exam is done, it takes about another week or so.
