I was terminated an appointment and wasn't told why...after several phone calls a Shawn Nelson blurted out "it was because of your racial comment". My agent on 3 way asked how are we to handle someone who transferred us 14 times over 1 1/2 hours to correct a license typo? We asked twice "to whom are we speaking" they would not identify themselves. I relayed to an underwriter, please help. He asked who was I talking with? I said she would not identify themselves. All I can say it was a black woman's voice...hopefully they could pinpoint the person who answered twice. 8 days later terminated with no reason? This is ridiculous...I worked a year to get appointed. Would have loved to been the fly on the wall on how all this turned into a race issue when all I wanted was someone to help our client. Any ideas out there? People don't believe this really happened. Google Safeco...it says the same thing. They don't answer the phone and turn it into a race issue? I have been on call 7 days x 26 years to help my clients. Now I get this? All the documents and phone coversations are on tape. It seems no one has the fortitude to make a wrong into a right. I'm all ears...that was only my 2nd policy for them. Again, Safeco..

I believe it. We're living in ridiculous times now. Everything has to be PC and all these companies want to appear to be "Woke". :mad:
 
I feel like I heard this exact same story on this forum 1 to 2 years ago

Does not discredit this story as it has been comon in this country

But I feel like everything is familiar the transferring 8 times the not giving a name the description of black woman specifically woman

the not knowing why fired till later

I wish I knew how to find this thread from before to see if its the same company

maybe it is a secret shopper type thing to force this type of description

This kind of thing feels like McCarthyism...it's pure bs...what is really sad is they are creating a problem by not addressing the real issue. my black friends called to apologize. i told them it has nothing to do with race...i say equality for all...don't make people angrier by not doing the right thing. I was terminated in an email due to "communications error"?! It took me 8 phone calls before a flustered Shawn Nelson blurts out "you were fired due to your racial comments"?! I'm 63, grew up having to earn everything in a harsh environment. I still play adult league basketball @ the downtown Orlando Y for the past 30 years and my teammates couldn't believe it. What is unbelievable is people telling me they don't believe Safeco would do that. So that means what? Pull the tapes!!! If there is someone strong enough to stand up against this kind of thing I will contribute whatever time and energy I have to this cause...where are our principles? I've waited 5 months for Safeco to address this before mentioning their nameplate. Obviously, the 4 low level corporate "yes people" thought I would just go away and all would be forgotten.
 
yes it has impacted my business..because alot of people don't believe it to be the truth so now I have my character to defend..if they saw my facebook, Safeco would really have egg on their face. I want them to be held accountable so no one else falls victim to corporate indecision makers...I worked hard to get appointed because the big boys only want the big agencies..Now my reward for helping our customers is this?

How would the public or your customers be aware of this to the point you need to defend. Didn't you say you only had 2 Safeco policies? Large & small Indy agencies lose appointments all the time as carriers move in & out of states, leave product lines, cancel contracts for lack of production, high loss ratio ,etc. Not seeing why this has to be explained or discussed with clients or public.
 
Allen, do you actually believe your bs? You dedicate your posts to me. If you need a friend..by a goldfish. I see you spend all of your time on this site...do you actually work hard at what you do for a living? Bring some useful ideas to the table. I was with Safeco for 2 months with 4 policies..all were referrals. I don't advertise..all my business is word of mouth. This is a serious matter. I have lived through busing in schools, MLK, RFK, and cities being burned. You sir are ignorant of the facts, so quit with the 2 thousand posts that are of no positive value and go get yourself that mystery shopper job you've always wanted. There is an article in the Washington Post about this troubling pattern..go read, learn something.
