Scrubbing 2 Different Excel Files

Need a little help here.

I need to scrub 2 different excel files against each other to check for duplicates. What is the best way to do this?

I don't know of an easy way to do it in excel. I have a database guy that does all that stuff for me. You could try using something like Access.

I was thinking maybe copy one list into the other and then using the duplicate tool but it doesn't seem to work.

Its actually very easily done in excel, but the fields have to match.

In fact, right in the toolbar (under the data tab) there is a button for remove duplicates.

If you just want to know which ones match, then there is a match function that returns true or false. There are a lot of examples on how to use this that can be found on google, or pm me and I'll send you a few.
