See How Much Commish Your Agent Gets on Medicare.gov

What is the big deal about
this?

Do your customers get to find out out how much commission you make when you sell a FE policy or an annuity? I think it's none of their business how much I make in the private sector

What is the big deal about this?

The big deal is because the govt doesn't publish things like what each provider receives from Medicare for each procedure.

CMS is not paying us; private companies are. But I guess it really must help the consumer to know what I make. It's really not profit of course, it's a gross amount. Perhaps CSM would be so kind as to show my expenses for office, phone, gas, etc.

The information itself is not as bad as the fact that CMS thinks it important to disclose it. This issue is just another sign of the nanny state.

Pretty soon it won't matter. Since we all will be working for the same employer, we all will be making the same amount of money.

Spread the wealth. That's what this country is apparently all about in 2010. To socialism and beyond!

Seems to me that something more worthwhile to publish would be what a plan is paid per member per month rather than what the plan pays independent brokers.

I believe if you look hard enough you can find that information on the CMS site.
