My name is Tommy and I am on a search to work in Insurance sales as a licensed agent. I currently am so new to the process I don't know up from down. I don't even know key phrases nor abbreviations. The good news is I am a clean slate. The bad news is I'm a clean slate. But, I prefer integrity, character, & honor. I have a strong work ethic and have a drive to succeed. I'm most likely interested in P&C (whichever is for homes, auto, etc).

Find an independent to hook up with to learn. Captives can be good for training but believe you me...you sell your soul on the education. Just my humble opinion. That said a lot can and will go wrong so you need some support starting out. Good luck on your endeavor.

P.S. A few years in, but only one as an Indy myself. If that is the eventual route for you, it is a different ball of wax from one carrier and one way training I received. IMHO.
