By opting for a vision insurance plan, you are entitle to get various vision care benefits that are defined in the policy. It generally covers eye examination and all other important medical procedure. So choose your vision insurance plan wisely for maximum coverage at affordable pricing.

Or just pay out of pocket. Vision insurance is usually a waste of money.

My DavisVision Discount Vision plan gets me 20% off UCR for equipment, 15% off for exams.

My AAA card ($52/year) gets me 30% off equipment, 25% off exams. Got me 20% off my LASEK too. (Not to mention, the laundry list of other discounts).

Only time I sell vision is when it's a (free or near free) rider for dental, I haven't seen a stand alone product that makes sense.

We have a local place (and I'm sure they are in most states across the country) whereby you can pay $99 and get three years worth of eye exams (3 for contacts and two for glasses). And they have the lowest price on contacts. If I want glasses I just use Eyeglasses Online - Buy Prescription Glasses & Eyeglass Frames | Zenni Optical. Last time I purchased from them I got my daughter three pair of frames and single vision lenses for about $50 shipped to my door.

Where can I buy a vision insurance plan?

That's what I was thinking. Why would any company allow you to pay a $20 premium and receive $300 worth of vision services the first month...or in the first year for that matter.

A vision PPO discount plan would be nice though, if it's priced right and is accepted by your chosen provider. Same for Dental.

Thanks for the reminder about AAA, have to check that out next time around at eye doc/glasses time.

Clients have to work hard to convince me to add the vision rider to dental. I have been told by a number of clients about the better deals around the area, Costco, WalMart/Sam's, mail order, etc.

I tell clients lots of vision plans are a sort of "Christmas Club" savings plan for eyeglasses or contacts. Even then you are paying to get a discount, not, say, 90-100% coverage.

Costco..glasses for my son....$110 cash. Just the glasses and lenses

Costco/Walmart/Sams Club actually have really good service/options/pricing when it comes to glasses. I was impressed.

My last lenses, I ended up going through a glasses guy at the flea market. $20, shipped, and installed. They were basic (no scratch/glare coating), but Lenscrafters wanted $240 for the same.
