Should I Go Captive with Mutual of Omaha

Hey guys I need your import should I go captive with Mutual of Omaha as a career agent,no leads no benefits and orphan phone lists to call.I really need a good solid start since I have been floundering on my own thanks

Do you like the agency manager? Does he/she have a track-record of successful agents? Do you like the products? Do you understand why you are having problems on your own?

Yes I know why I am having problems on my own I have never had solid training on Life insurance only MA and Supp plans.The manager is great but it seems like a boiler room operation

In my personal experience (of being in self-employed for 30+ years now)... what it "seems" is what it most often turns out to be.

Trust your "gut" instincts. They will be right more often than wrong.

You mentioned Med Supps. If this is an area that you hope to concentrate on I believe you will discover that you will be limiting your sales opportunities by being captive with any company. It is almost imperative that a Med Supp agent have the ability to represent several companies.

Although they have great name recognition seniors are mostly interested in the policy that is the least expensive. They may be in the top three most competitive in your state now but one premium increase could knock them out of that position. If that happens you would have to switch your focus to one of their other products.
