Has anyone worked with the Master Agency in the LA region? Kinney & Company is the name of them I believe. Their mentioned on the SIAA website however I've been hard pressed to find as much as a website for them through "the google".

I've read many posts saying how SIAA is only as good as your master agency so looking for some background on these folks from hopefully someone who has or is currently working with them. Thanks!

Where in LA? If it's the south side of the county it's Tague Alliance. North side might be something else (I guess Kinney). I'm with Tague. They're flippin' fantastic and couldn't imagine a better partner. Let me know if you need an introduction.

Just wondering if you are still happy with the SIAA/Tague group?? We are considering a move back to SoCal this summer and I am thinking it might be easier to join an group rather than chase individual appts. again (currently have an agency in the Cincinnati area).

I you write a good volume of business...slowly pickup carriers on your own. Otherwise you'll outgrow SIAA rather quickly. Pursue your regionals first. With a solid business plan & track record of production you WILL be able to get appointments on your own.

Your growth may not be as fast (cause you may only get a few carriers at first..) but it will pay off in the end.

Ins1822,

Have you outgrown your relationship with your SIAA?

What if your contract allowed you to walk at year X free and clear. Would you have taken that contract instead?

Great question! I am looking at SIAA and Smart Choice now. Everything sounded really good with SIAA. They said it was a 15 year contract. I assumed that after 15 years I could just walk away. I was ready to sign up right then and there. Unfortunately not true! I assumed that after paying their initial fee, plus percentage of all sales and renewals for 15 years, we would be even at the end. I am trying to look few years ahead and I am one of those people who actually read the contract. To walk away after 15 years, I would have to pay a huge price!
