Small Group Health Carriers

The sales reps can't sit on renewals like we can. When agents don't turn over business from one carrier to another or produce new accounts, the sales reps don't make money. In my state, rate increases have been lowered to meet MLR so there's more conservation of renewal business. The economy has produced fewer start-up businesses to buy health coverage. Agents have left the small group market, or are sitting tight producing only what falls on their desktop. Carrier Sales Reps see a drastic reduction in income when this happens.
