I hear mixed things about Smartchoiceagents.com as far as a GA goes. They seem to have lots of markets, direct appointment, binding authority. Yes, they take 30% of commissions but you earn 100% after $50K.
One common complaint I hear is that they have a 2-year noncompete. Once you are at the 100% commission level, what reason would anyone have to leave SmartChoice? There's no ongoing cost and you would get the benefit of support without any cost to your agency.
Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks!
