I would like some Idea about software for my insurance Business. I need a software program to manage polices and keep track of my business.

And also to hold leads where I could maybe scan then into the system and attach them to the file.

Any Help????

I use Radius. Plug and play. Anywhere I have web access (like my phone) I have access to my book.

First off, I will say, I am the owner of IMpress Leads. Now with that said, we have just deployed the alpha release of our CRM. It is free to use. Actually we would like people to use it, and let us know what else they would like to see it do. And I am glad I saw this. Over the next few days, we will add the ability to attach documents to leads.

Another option you might try is Fat Free CRM. It takes a decent amount of technical knowledge to install, and even more to customize. It is the base for our CRM.

And yet another option, though I don't know much about it is Zoho CRM.

What line of insurance business and how large?
Do you need to download policies from the carrier? Do your carriers support this?

Do you need to figure commission for producers?

There are a lot of options, but if you need to become insurance specific, or if you need P&C support, it will cost a bit more than the free versions that are out there. At the same time, that small CRM investment will save you tons of hours of manual labor.

There is no single answer without more info.

Dan,

You seem to have a lot of knowledge in this area. Do you have any suggestions that would make our CRM better, and how would we go about working with carriers so agents could download their policies and attach them to their clients?

I haven't seen your CRM so I can't offer much advice on it. I went to the website briefly, I assume its not officially launched yet.

As a personal choice, I would not use a CRM from a company that may not be around tomorrow, which I'm getting from the fact you haven't launched yet. The data in a CRM is a significant investment for an agent, it needs to be treated as such. That said, everyone has to start somewhere.

A lot of carriers have documents that show how they exchange data. I've seen a few, doesn't look overly complicated, but you usually end up having to get certified before you can go 'live'. I've never done it, but I assume that the certification process can be a bit of a bear.

Good luck with your endeavor!

I should have added, a lot of companies do the data exchange via IVANS. You can find more information on that at Strategic Consulting, Data Services, Network Services | IVANS, Inc.

Thier website is less than clear, but you could have a quick conversation with them to see if its something you want to get involved in. I'm sure there are some $$$$ involved.

Dan,
Thank you so much for your input. As, I hope you saw from the website, we have launched the CRM in an alpha release. The mailing portion will begin around the first of the year, and the whole program should be in the beta mode. I do thank you for visiting. We will be around for quite some time, and if this endeavor doesn't work out, the CRM will be online as long as I am alive. Thank you for the links, and the quick explanation. They are greatly appreciated.
