Don't get too excited, because they aren't allowing actual insurance professionals in, unless of course, they sell all the OTHER kinds of insurance like auto, disability and LTC, just not medical insurance.

Anybody else see the wisdom of such an arrangement? lol

Grants are going to be available to Navigators, but there are some rather important caveats...

For example:

Health insurers and stop-loss insurers are not eligible to be navigators.

Insurance agents and brokers who earn compensation, including trailing commissions, from health carriers for selling health coverage also are not eligible to apply for navigator grants.

Insurance agents and brokers who earn commissions from selling products other than medical insurance, such as auto insurance, disability insurance and long-term care insurance apparently are eligible to apply for navigator grants.

This has win written all over it...

Actually, it only provides opportunities for people who don't know what they're doing. Which means that when they f*#k everything up, it looks like insurance agents are bad and that we need to go to a single payer system. Just like everything else, this too is designed for failure.

Obamacare will crash and burn before it becomes single payer . . . which, although it was probably the intent, will most likely never happen.

A spouse of a licensed insurance agent selling medical insurance can also NOT become a navigator.

Nav grants will go to the big community organizers, you'll have to get the job through one of them. I see unemployment at 3% by Jan
