I have a start up agency that has expanded into 4 states over the last year, but I am having trouble finding a carrier that is competitive in the surrounding area of Charleston, WV. Right now I have Safeco and The Hartford which I went through Iroquois Group to get these appointments. My trouble is that I"m losing big time to Erie and State Farm which are coming in, on average, $4-$500 cheaper a year.
Does anyone know if any of these captive carriers are open to appointing an outside agency?, or another competitive carrier in WV.
I heard State Auto was decent but they are very slow in getting back to me or moving forward in general.

I forgot to mention that this is for homeowners insurance.
