Telemarketing Service

I looking for feedback from Agents who've worked with "professional telemarketing" firms. In the past, anytime I've telemarketed, I hired the callers, made the scripts, provided the lists and managed the whole process. It was exhausting, had high turnover and required constant attention.

Has anyone worked with a firm that is reliable, professional and most importantly is producing a ROI for the marketing dollars spent with them? We are looking to prospect homeowners and wondered if anyone has "cracked the code" at doing it successfully by utilizing professional telemarketing. Thanks.

On the site people have mentioned TRI, Bolder, & HBW leads.

I currently am working with HBW but I just started so I will let you know the resuslts.

Some say these companies are just as bad as internet leads others say they are the best source of business so its up to you how well they work.

No, I have not. Those companies deal with all of the problems you face but they charge $30+ per hour. In my experience, you are better off doing it in house and paying $1 per hour above market. I have been able to find relatively reliable telemarketers for $12 per hour.

There are some firms that "guarantee" commercial appointments for a flat fee for setup then per appointment. I've heard some local agents have success but I suppose with the right script and targeted list you can do this cheaper in house.

Do they guarantee the quality of the appointment? I spent over $10k trying out the "top" telemarketing companies in the P&C industry and I was not happy with the results. Many of them consider an X date or a polite blow off as a lead, The results have been much better in house.

agreed!

I pay an outside firm $480/month for 40+/- appts for two producers. ROI is good but nowhere near what we've done in house. I'm just too lazy... or business is too good right now to worry about it.

That sounds like a good deal. A little over $10 per lead. Do you mind sharing who you are working with?

I just got done using one for leads. I would say 85% of them coincidentally enough just had their policy renew the month before. LOL. All of these were people just getting the telemarketer off the phone. Some may say it is a waste of money but I do get a contact name and sometimes the name of the current company. I can use these tools.

See if you can work it into your contract that the policy must renew in the next 6 months.

I've also paid for appointments before. Do yourself a favor and call and confirm all appointments before you go. Also have it written into your contract that if one of those leads cancels you don't pay for it.
