That is the inital proposed amount, but I think that is highly likely to change. That figure assumes a 20% reduction in provider pay that is scheduled to go into effect, but is almost certain to be killed. This is the scheduled reduction that has been postponed for the last couple of years already.

...and medical costs are up by at least 6%. There is still plenty of time for the reimbursements to be lowered. I think it's a safe bet that benefits are going to get reducted for 2010. A lot plans that are putting their bid designs together are making one version under the .5% increase (which is really closer to a 5.5% decrease when medical costs are factored in) and another set of plan designs if reimbursements get cut more drastically.
