Big mistake number two for Obama coming right up. First mistake was to try to demonize the masses who object to his plan. Already seeing the fall-out from that.

Second big mistake is try to demonize doctors and insurance companies who have supported him so that he could get this far. There was always an agreed-upon dance where he could criticize them as part of a broken system but to characterize them as an inherently evil part of the system is not going to fly. Last month he was talking about docs removing tonsils just to make a few bucks and this week he is talking about docs removing a diabetics leg so that they can make $50,000 (his estimate, no relation to the facts) rather than provide preventive care. The AMA is not going to put up with that. Neither are the insurance carries going to stand by and let Obama basically say that they have not done any good things. Same assault going on with the pharms. They gave a pound of flesh to help him out now he is out there slamming them for patenting drugs. He has gone too far and in my, humble opinion, they will turn on him now rather let him run them straight into the ground and portray them as shmucks. This is true regardless of whether they are or are not. He is holding cards. So are they.

Prepare for combat.

Let the games continue.

I've been wondering about this as well -- how many groups can Obama attack with this buckshot approach before there's a significant backlash? Off the top of my head, the following businesses & industries are evil:

Banks
Oil Companies
Doctors
Hospitals
Auto Companies
Pharma
Insurance Companies
Financial Companies

I'm sure I'm missing a few. How many millions of people do these industries employ? How many millions of people are satisfied with the products & services these industries offer?

This Divide & Conquer/Politics of Envy approach is understandable in a debate (and they often work for the Democrats), but at some point it goes too far. At some point it begins to turn the corner from effective strategy to desperate flailing.

Perfect title, Winter, "Tipping Point".

The left are in the minority. He has lost his rudder and is running in circles like a dog chasing his tail.

Well, let us just say that he is not the first Democratic president to spend his days chasing tail in the White House.
