Unemployed List - Any Available

Interesting question. If available it would most like be your state DOL.

Care to share why you want a list of folks who don't have money?

I recommend you find a local Job Seekers/Networking Group, and visit there for a few times. That's where you will find those that are unemployed.

For two years (up until last Tuesday), I led a Career Networking Group, and had anywhere from 5 to 20 people attend every week. There's several group around that get larger crowds than that.

DOL will not release any lists like that, due to privacy issues.

Unemployed people have more money than you think, they know other employed people, and they visit potential employers that can be a good small group lead for you.

Good luck.

I have attended a few of these and really got nothing from it. With my client base everyone was asking me for contacts.

Did you have any success with it?

I like the idea of working an unemployed list but how are you going to go about it. Would you mail to them or do you think you can get phone numbers?

#2 has indicated in the past he has written some STM business. He may have also picked up other business via referrals, etc.

Or he may just do it because he is a nice guy who expects nothing in return.

If I had to guess, I would say his approach is subtle and non-threatening. But I am sure he will enlighten us.

#1 is correct.

I didn't get into it as a money making proposition. It was more of a "paying it forward" situation.

As #1 stated, the more I did it, the more others wanted to help me as best they could.

The only reason I stopped my group was because there was nobody to help me run it, and when I got too busy to run it anymore, everyone understood, and told me they appreciated all that I did.

One attendee suggested I cut it back to once a month.

After the first of the year, I may just do that. The church where we held the meetings told me that I had an open invitation to start it up anytime. Just give them a call, and tell them what room I need, and what day/night I need.

There are some things you do, not for enrichment of your wallet, but for enrichment of your soul.

That is very nice of you to give back to the community.

My wife sits on a couple of the charity boards.

All the network meeting I have been to were for profit.

Thanks for your comments. Unemployed does not mean out of ability to pay. It means Cobra and loss of some insurance. Probably a good source for regular term or major med. Just a thought.

Unemployed does not mean out of ability to pay.

Given the negative savings rate, and the number of folks living paycheck to paycheck, I would take issue with your statement.
