United of Omaha's Version of 12 Month Guarantee

I was noticing that my United of Omaha clients were getting rate increases before their 12 month rate guarantee had expired. I called and asked about it.

My client's policy was issued on 10-1-08. I sent in the application in July of 2008. Instead of getting the rate increase in October, they are going by when they received the application....so she got the rate increase in July....that's how they figure the 12 month rate guarantee by when the app was submitted not when it was actually issued. That doesn't seem fair.

They've modified this now. The rate is locked in when the app is signed and the rate will not increase for 12 mo. after effective date of plan.

Will my clients that I wrote last year get the true 12 month guarantee or is this just for new cases...since they modified it?

Come on... If you are really concerned about premium increases then why are you selling UOO in the first place?

If you write for MOO then you should have received the bulletine on this within the past two/three months.

I try and read the Mutual Matters every month. That is the only way I'm contacted by Mutual of Omaha. They don't send out emails like some of the other companies do. How are you contacted?
