United World - KS Insurance Dept Stepping in

The rumor is KS insurance department followed suit along with other state insurance departments and has required United World to increase the rates of their Medicare plans that are available June 1 2010.

Supposed, it looks like they are taking a 16% increase on both old and new blocks of business and are also not allowed to offer lower rates on the new plans available over the old plans.

Has anybody else heard about this?

that's the line "the guy" at MOO told me...

I was bitchin about them rolling out a book of business and taking a R/U before we've issued the first plan.

I'm assuming this is due to KS keeping them from making a seperate "book" out of the new vs. the old business and they were due a R/U anyway... dunno... it's all crap and we deal with it.

Just got notice from MOO late last week saying Maine required a rate increase which further puts them behing AARP here in Maine.
