Is VA coverage/care considered to be creditable coverage relative to pre-existing conditions when applying for a med supp?

I know that state law may vary etc but just in general.

You might find a state that would call it creditable, but, the general answer is no.

Includes prior coverage under another group health plan, an individual health insurance policy, COBRA, Medicaid, Medicare, CHAMPUS, the Indian Health Service, a state health benefits risk pool, FEHBP, the Peace Corps Act, or a public health plan “ – from Department of Labor



If CHAMPUS is considered creditable, then I think VA comes under this umbrella, as long as you are talking full-time benefits. There are, as you know, many levels of VA benefits.
