Have an employee CSR and does sales as people call in for Individual Health Insurance. She wants a massive raise, but the hard part is that the margins for individual policies are slim. We make it up on volume (have 3 employees other than myself).

She has been working with me for just over 1 year and doing a good job about 90% of the time. However she doesn't think outside the box and isn't

What are some ideas you have? What do you pay employees (P&C or Individual Health Insurance, or others).

Just want to get some insight on what to do.

Not terribly much. The company I work for has 2 different types of offices (in general) which are the "sales firms" (outside sales) and "service centers" (CS). We also lump inside sales people with the service centers as well (they're very slim in numbers when compared to the outside sales people). I work in the "sales firm," and even though both types of offices work for the company, we aren't affiliated with each other (if that makes sense). Our CSR's make anywhere from 30-63k, with 40k being the average (this is also the same amount of money a first year agent makes in their "training allowance" alone, which they lose after ~3 years and switch over to full commission).

Aggravatingly enough, many former agents that I've tried to recruit have said that they're making the switch to CS, and often ask if there's any CSR positions at our firm... :swoon: Meanwhile, the maximum pay of our CSR's is approximately the same as the average of a first year agent.:twitchy:

Hope this was of help to you.
