Just looked at plans M and N in Alabama with United World. They are now approved for writing. Plan N for a 65 year-old female non-smoker in lower Alabama is $75.59 a month. Plan F is $101.46 a month! Difference is $25.87 a month. What's the sense in writing anyone N? You're losing the part B deductible being paid($155) + adding a $20 co-pay for doctor visits and adding a $50 co-pay for ER only visits.
Get this...they keep the commission the same! I'm getting 16% on UW in Alabama, so at $75.59 a month x 12 months=$907.08 x .16%=$145.13 per policy. Just wait til 2011 if it goes down to 5%. $45.35 per policy for plan N in southern Alabama. Might as well write true-up PDP's.
Props to the Alabama DOI for approving the modernized plans in a timely fashion. You hear that Tallahassee.
