Two Very Important Factors of Future Search Engine Ranking factors for Websites.

And it all boils down to the "End User" The Searcher. No more snake oil, and all the SEO buzz words and techniques are GONE!! and will slowly diminish. My clients will understand and appreciate this major change better than anyone.

The Web will become a better place because of this change.

1. Clean Modern Code
2. Loading Time

First, if your website coding is clean and uncluttered, your website will download faster for your customer or client and provide them this informaition quickly.

If your coding is clean, the Major Search Engines will rank the site much higher now with the changes in place. (Google Caffeine). Allowing them to not have to go thru so much junk or bulk coding to locate the Content.

Second, Recent changes to Google, If your Website Loads Faster than your competition, you will rank higher in the Search Engine Results, and most importantly, you will receive much higher conversion rates with your clients.

Google has no problem reading most code and thats not the issue anymore, The Old Standard is Gone!!!

#1 Factor

Which site provides the most relevant, unique infomational content on the Keyword Phrase Searched. Now the Term "Content is King" will make sense and will be more than some buzz word.

#2 Factor

Which website is built using modern coding techniques, to provide this useful and relevant information to the Searcher the Fastest!!

Over a year ago, and I still see it today, it was common practice for some web designers to using "Nested Tables". Look for websites the use the latest CSS coding.

The linking structure of a website will be important, but never again will it have such a major role in determining ranking. (THAT GAME IS OVER)

The End Result:

Faster, cleaner, and happier websites for the Searcher.
Better and Stable Search Engine Rankings
Higher conversion rates

From the above... three questions for the SEO gurus here:

1. How does WordPress and the themes that have been vetted by them rank as "clean code?" Best, better, average, poor?

2. Is Google saying that sites that have a lot of graphical content will rank lower since graphics will always load slower than text?

3. Since all he voodoo is gone, what will be the role of those selling SEO services? Are they going to be code-cleaners?

[I can guarantee you that I know PHP better than 99% of anyone selling SEO services (see this to see why I say that) and you really don't want to be messing with the code of some of these content managers unless you really, really, really know what you are doing.]

Like Droopal, I LOVE Droopal but I think the average person would have NO idea if they started tinkering with the source code.

I wrote a blog about what I think about SEO as an industry about two weeks ago: Internet Lead Generation Blog > Pangaea LLC (the site will be down Sunday night as we install all the new content, so if you go there then and don't see the blog that's why).

Just because you know PHP or whatever language, has no relationship to a good individual that understand Search Engine Marketing, Example, I have several Huge sites built in Asp.net. Does not mean I need to make any major changes to the code, or rewrite the code. CMS systems are pretty simple and user friendly for the basics, ie Titles of Pages, Description of Page.

As a Search Engine Marketer, I know this site needs a .xml sitemap submitted to the Search Engines so they can find the site quickly and locate all pages of this site.

You submit a asp.net site to your friendly xml sitemap generator and you will have maybe 5 pages located. Wont cut it, and you will have a tough time getting your relevant pages indexed. So my point is, the SEO indvidual better understand how to work with this code and install the proper handler to create a true xml sitemap format that all the Major Search Engines understand and can index your site correctly.

1. WordPress is Awesome, due its structure and coding that individuals dont usually mess up. Plus a variety of useful Plugins and updates to keep the spam bots from attacking your site. Google loves wordpress sites, due to its clean code and site structure and quick load time. Your Server will also make a huge difference.

2. Google is saying that Content is Truly King now, No longer a buzz word, but just plain old content, wont cut it either. Keep your pics small, and title them correctly.

3. These so called SEO services, are dying as we speak, no longer will the linking game, directory submission, article spinning, or recipical linking play a part in Googles new index.

Individuals that offer true Search Engine Marketing for your website, will become more important today than ever before. Problem, most so called SEO Companies dont understand this concept or get it!!! They still need to understand the importance of Good Basic, easy navigational websites for the Search Engines.

This should include making sure that your Content is Titled and described correctly, and that you are providing -Useful - Educational - Engaging content, that will provide the searcher with the fastest-easiest-information that is "Exactly Based on the Keyword Phrase.

Understanding how to build "Authority and "Promote" the websites Content to Authority sites that will instantly expose your site to relevant and targeted clients.

You must of read my blog because we agree, except I'm not that fond of WP when building.:laugh:

how about goarticles .....do a search for Houston Life Insurance Rates...

Pangaea...Just curious...why are you not fond of WP? I'm not an SEO person, but I always thought WP was great. Articles will often be on the front page AND the top spot within an hour.
I'm a developer, I'd rather work with Drupal and Joomla since I can build anything and everything I want. Putting Wordpress in my hands is like giving a USMC Sniper a Dillinger.
