Hello, I recently graduated college and was interviewed and offered a position with a new agent. The agent had previous experience selling insurance for American Family. I was offered $11/hr + commission. Is this a decent or average starting base pay. I've seen started base pays as high as mid 30s a year, but of course the commission structure could differ.

Well, depends on how cute you are.

Sorry, but it does depend on what you are going to be doing. Answering the phone, running leads, appointment selling for him, Selling? Selling what, at what commission. And as important what are you bringing to the table?

Well I'd be selling and making appointments for myself, of course the agent would get their cut. We would also be going to events to prospect leads. I'd be selling the full portfolio of insurance products. I'll have to get the exact commission structure, but it started at 30%, and went up to 50% depending on how many contracts were sold. I believe the percentages are based on what she actually makes on each contract.
